Next Gen

1. Tell us about your character and why you want to join Next Gen.

The son of missing billionaire inventors, sixteen year-old supergenius Technix (aka Nicholas Noble) uses his gift of technological artistry to fight crime and search for his parents. In his quest for justice, he utilizes an array of high-tech devices of his own design, including a pair of dangerously experimental cold fusion jet-boots with which he is always tinkering.

Affable and self-deprecating, Technix has managed to avoid the pitfalls of being "the smartest kid in the room" by not feeling the need to broadcast that particular fact. This is mostly due to the influence of his mother, who taught him to be humble about his abilities. While he does struggle with the typical teenage uncertainty of his place among his peers, he generally gets along well with others.

About me: long, LONG time roleplayer (20+ years, since the good old days of pen and paper) as well as a long-time MMORPGer. Writer, musician, father, and soon-to-be high school English teacher.

As to why I wish to join Next Gen: I've been searching for a home for Technix for quite some time now. I spent some time in another teen-themed group, but the group dynamic shifted radically from light-hearted and heroic to angsty, moody and over-the-top anti-hero. While there's nothing at all wrong with that concept (I have a few characters that fit that description myself) it wasn't the right place for this particular character. Having read the Next Gen mission statement, I don't foresee that being a problem here.

Plus, I really dig the name. It's catchy!
